Business Development Manager

Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager - Low Carbon

The Senior Business Development Manager - Low Carbon will be responsible for promoting the Low Carbon sector within our client's organisation. The role focuses on attracting job-creating and transformative investment into the West Midlands region, and the individual will report to the Mobility, Manufacturing & Life Sciences Strategic Lead.

• Identify and translate the strengths and opportunities within the West Midlands into a compelling value proposition to attract investment in the Low Carbon sector.
• Lead the delivery and ongoing refreshing of the Low Carbon inward investment strategy, coordinating outreach to relevant businesses.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify the best routes for contacting target businesses and attracting investment.
• Generate and manage a pipeline of inward investment enquiries, focusing on new and expansion projects.
• Provide consultative support and sector expertise to other teams within the organisation.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across public, private, and academic sectors within the West Midlands.
• Utilise CRM systems to record, monitor, and refine business development strategies.
• Mentor and support team members to enhance understanding of the Low Carbon sector.

• Experience in developing and delivering a business development strategy within the Low Carbon sector.
• Knowledge of working with multiple external stakeholders and within a complex multi-stakeholder business support programme.
• Private sector experience, ideally within the Low Carbon sector or related advisory services.

This role is office-based in Birmingham with flexibility to work from home, and will require work across the West Midlands, with occasional national and possibly international travel.

Upon successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of the Senior Business Development Manager - Low Carbon role, there may be opportunities to progress to senior roles within the organisation or cross-departmental opportunities.
