Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the caregiver and the client.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
Document client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to appropriate personnel.
Support clients with dementia care by employing effective communication techniques and patience.
Experience
Previous experience in senior care, home care, or assisted living is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial for effective communication within a healthcare setting.
Experience in hospice care or nursing home environments is an advantage.
A background in caregiving that includes meal preparation and heavy lifting is preferred.
Candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others and possess strong interpersonal skills.
