We're looking for a Sales & Business Development Manager to work on a permanent basis for our client in the Bedford area.

About the Organisation:

A market-leading nationwide supplier specialising in non-mechanical plant, equipment sales and hire, and construction supplies. The organisation works continuously to build a truly diverse and inclusive workforce and culture, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively sell to new (60%) and existing customers (40%)
  • Follow up on weekly inbound customer enquiries
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service for internal and external clients
  • Develop market growth through specifier and end-user conversion
  • Maintain efficient sales order entry using CRM system
  • Achieve sales targets, call rates, meeting quotas and KPIs
  • Support new product development initiatives
  • Conduct customer meetings as required
  • Monitor customer activity and report to senior management
  • Gather and report competitive intelligence

The Package and Work Pattern:

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Bedford or surrounding area (within a commutable distance of my clients office)

Working Hours: Full-time

Package Details:

Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 basic (OTE 80,000+), currently being attained by the top billers.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years' experience in construction sector
  • Knowledge of non-mechanical plant and equipment
  • Previous hire industry experience
  • Construction industry knowledge

Required Competencies:

  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Strong sales ability
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent communication at all levels
  • Sound IT knowledge including MS Office
  • CRM systems experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong team player mentality
  • Proven sales experience
  • Full UK driving licence
