About the Role:

Our client, a highly regarded name in transport logistics, is looking for a driven and experienced Business Development Executive to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to expand their business, develop key relationships, and achieve ambitious sales goals. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in transport logistics sales and a strong understanding of European markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
  • Build and maintain a network of industry connections in the transport logistics sector.
  • Successfully close deals and meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Leverage knowledge of the Belgian, German, Dutch, and Iberian markets to gain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Visit existing and potential clients, ensuring a strong presence in the market.
  • Manage price structures and tariffs, provide quotations, and follow up with clients.
  • Finalise and close deals, including client set-up, customs formalities, and credit terms.
  • Maintain accurate client records and nurture long-term relationships.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer complaints/retention.
  • Attend relevant trade seminars, exhibitions, and networking events.
  • Perform competitor analysis to stay competitive in the market.
  • Be prepared to travel within the UK and abroad as necessary.

About You:

  • Proven experience in business development or transport logistics sales, especially with the Belgian, German, Dutch, or Iberian markets.
  • Self-motivated with a strong track record in achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
