The Commercial Manager will work closely with our business development team to expand Roke's business supplying technology, expertise and consultancy services to the UK Government and Commercial Clients.

You will be responsible for providing contractual, financial, and business risk management, from tendering to contract acceptance and in-service contract management.

As our next Commercial Manager, you will have the ability to act and communicate with alacrity and clarity both in person and in writing and the ability to form positive personal relationships both internally with bid and delivery team colleagues as well as with external Customers is critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
To support Roke's growth strategy by delivering commercial management and support to sales and IP exploitation.
To provide commercial support from early business development, contract negotiation and on through the life of the contract.
Lead on drafting, negotiating and implementing contracts, confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, subcontracting and similar arrangements where appropriate.
Lead on engagements with internal and external customers. Establishing Roke's position on appropriate UK Government contracting frameworks.
Support the establishment of relationships with Business Sales Partners - review, approve, provide support and monitor adherence to Company and Chemring Group policies and business Governance requirements for appointment and management of Sales Partners.
Undertake commercial, financial and business risk and opportunity management during bidding and contract negotiations/management.
Liaising with Customers to convert quotations/bids into orders and maintaining regular Customer contact to ensure Customer satisfaction through diligent and accurate contract administration.
Ensure compliance with Roke policy and process and lead process tailoring and process review based on clear understanding of wider business context.
Proactive identification of continuous improvement opportunities.
Define customer and business value, take ownership of time, cost and quality trades in order to meet business objectives.
Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder's experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business.

The Key Requirements .

Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms and conditions of doing business, with the ability to review and negotiate a variety of contract types, including large UK Government framework contracts.
Ability to draft, negotiate and implement contracts and change requests with excellent attention to detail.
You should be competent in the fields of contractual costing (e.g. contingencies and provisions) and financial planning (e.g. milestone planning), contractual risk management and contract negotiation.
Highly organised with the ability to maintain focus, manage priorities and deliver under pressure.
Able to work to deadlines and have the ability to influence.
You should be a confident communicator with good presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to interact with colleagues and customers at all levels.
You will be required, on occasion, to travel on business.

ROMSEY - Alongside hybrid and flexible working options, you'll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.

Clearances

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC clearance.
