INITIALLY A 6 MONTH CONTRACT WHILST THE BUSINESS MERGER SETTLES. POTENTIAL FOR PERM WITHIN THE GROUP.

This employer, in the fresh food sector, is seeking an experienced Sales Ledger expert to join their Accounts team of 2 on a permanent basis. (Very friendly, sociable team - I know because I placed them there).

As the 'Sales Ledger' expert, you'll be replacing a valued employee who is emigrating and joining a growing business who have increased their employee numbers in the last year. 2024 / 5 the business will continue to go through a very positive period of growth and transition.

What you will be doing as Sales Ledger Clerk:

  • Being solely responsible for and carrying out the 'Sales Ledger' / 'Accounts Receivable' function
  • Liaising with customers and colleagues to resolve queries and re-qualify details
  • Reconciling sales ledger
  • Administering and reconciling petty cash.
  • Processing invoices and remittances
  • Ledger management including Credit Control and any relevant follow up tasks to ensure payments are made on time.
  • Post journals as required.
  • Maintaining and updating various financial spreadsheets- Excel, Sage and bespoke systems
  • Work in collaboration with the Accounts Administrator to ensure robust processes and outcomes
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the monthly reporting and year end processes

Does this sound like you?

  • A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable but not essential
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications - they use Sage in this role however you do not need to have experience of this as full training is given
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practises.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
