This role leads commercial and business growth strategy in an early-stage technology business developing products and services for new and existing markets. The successful applicant will need to establish a clear external and internal commercial strategy for Qureight's value proposition to support revenue growth and overall business value inflection.

Accountable for multiple aspects of commercial growth including:

  1. Setting and delivering against revenue targets for the remainder of 2024, 2025, and 2026
  2. Increasing revenue from FY 2025 onwards and diversifying the client base
  3. Implementing accurate deal forecasting methodologies
  4. Working with finance function/CFO to:
    1. Align deal structures with revenue recognition and financial reporting
    2. Integrating future deal forecasting with financial forecasting (e.g. cashflow)
  5. Broadening therapeutic verticals for Qureight products and applications
  6. Establishing value-enhancing strategic relationships across the industry ecosystem, including access to strategically important datasets

Development of overall Qureight commercial strategy for future business plan and future Series B investment round.

Developing multiple components of business function and infrastructure to support commercial activities: pre-sales, marketing, and post-sales.

Work with Qureight C-suite to:

  1. Develop and execute company goals, strategies, and business plans
  2. Provide management team support for successful delivery against plans and targets
  3. Guide the business through the next growth stage, develop and realise strategic vision
  4. Build value into the business via realisable intangible assets in addition to revenue (data, IP, know-how, trade secrets, expertise)
  5. Ensure alignment between commercial and R&D functions in the development of future products and services
  6. Support future investment and fundraising strategy
  7. Collaborate with the CFO to develop appropriate forecasting and product pricing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and work with the Head of Business Development to develop a coherent sales plan
  2. Execute the commercial strategy and spearhead initiatives and programmes to increase penetration into existing partnerships, clients, and to drive new revenue/growth
  3. Take a strong lead in executing the strategic plan and personally drive key commercial initiatives, managing priorities, and being a team player in the delivery of projects within the timelines
  4. Negotiate, in close collaboration with the Head of Business Development, to close major commercial agreements to ensure that Qureight reaches its ambitious top line and profitability targets where defined.
  5. Represent the business externally to inform and educate the market around Qureight's proposition and success stories.

Experience and Skills:

Commercial:

  1. Proven track record in commercial achievement for new product offerings derived from innovative technologies entering new markets
  2. Proven success in establishing and growing commercial activities of early-stage technology businesses
  3. Developing business development growth strategies for new technologies and products
  4. Proven background in solution selling of technically complex products and services within a multi-stakeholder environment
  5. Proven background in service and technology licensing transactions across pharma and biotech
  6. Strong forecasting, budgeting, and reporting skills

Industry:

  1. In-depth understanding of the drug development process, especially within the respiratory disease sector

Corporate development:

  1. Proven history of fundraising and existing network
  2. Awareness of corporate governance requirements and responsibilities

Operational:

  1. Very strong communicator across written, verbal, and presentation skills
  2. Ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  3. Experience of working within a regulated environment
  4. Team player able to establish a collaborative, open, and inclusive style of interaction with the wider team and C-Suite
  5. Coach and develop a team to deliver the targets
  6. Globally experienced
  7. Cultural sensitivity and ability to operate effectively with colleagues, customers, third parties from diverse backgrounds and understanding international business practices.

Qualifications / Education:

Preferred:

  1. 5 or more years' experience within senior strategy or C-level role
  2. Education to PhD level within a scientific discipline
  3. Complex sales training with recognised provider (e.g. Miller Heiman) preferred
