Overview

Redwood Search is working with a Worcester-based professional service consultancy to recruit an ambitious New Business Development Manager. This is a pivotal role identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the professional service industry. You are a natural hunter, highly motivated, and results-oriented, with a passion for driving growth and expanding the client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and target new business opportunities
  • Consultatively sell a solution
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and other business development strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals and ensure client requirements are met.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts, close deals, and manage the transition of new clients to the account management team.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular updates on business development activities.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role within a service or solution-based environment.
  • A true new business hunter with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of service and solution sales, with the ability to present complex offerings to prospective clients.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience using CRM software to track sales activity and manage pipelines.
