Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a global FMCG business, based in Birmingham to recruit for a National Account Executive to lead on the continued growth and management of one of the businesses retail stockists.

Job title: National Account Executive

Location: Birmingham

Salary: 35,000 - 43,000 + bonus and car allowance

Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid (3 days a week in office)

Start date: May - July 2024

The role:

In this role you will understand customer behaviour and implement and identify new business opportunities within your dedicated account (retailer/stockist). You will work to develop and implement a successful commercial strategy, that aligns with customer data and internal teams strategy, to increase sales.

Key requirements:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies tailored to meet both short-term and long-term business objectives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Take charge of managing customer accounts with a focus on securing distribution channels, increasing market share, and enhancing visibility at various points of sale.
  • Continuously monitor and assess sales performance metrics against predetermined targets, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to fine-tune marketing plans for optimal results.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of promotional activities, leveraging insights to formulate strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing promotional effectiveness and driving overall sales growth.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to monitoring monthly business forecasts, promptly identifying any deviations and proposing proactive measures to address potential shortfalls and capitalise on emerging opportunities.

Candidate criteria:

  • Experience in a similar role, account manager role or sales role
  • Experience within FMCG or food sales/account management roles
  • Strong relationship builder with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good working ability with customer data and analytical skills
  • Ability to confidently present findings/actionable insights to stakeholders
